West Broadway Community Organization (WBCO) and partners Westminster Housing Society (WHS) and Rainbow Resource Centre (RRC) are working together to develop a four storey, 21-unit affordable rental project at 549 Broadway (at the SE corner of Good St and Broadway). This is land owned by WBCO, currently vacant, just west of Wilson House - the heritage building at 545 Broadway. There hasn't been a building on this site since a large multi-family house was torn down in 1977, and we are excited to bring new residential and commercial space to this important intersection.

The project is focused on addressing specific affordable housing needs within the local 2SLGBTQ+ community. The collective vision is to develop an integrated project that not only provides safe, affordable housing to this community, but also provides associated program supports, and a new commercial store-front on one of our community's busiest commercial strips.

We invite residents of 182 Colony St. and 167 Colony St. to a 'virtual' open house on Monday, October 25 from 6pm to 6:30pm, to learn more about the proposed development and ask our architect and partners any questions you may have as neighbours.
