Mushroom Growing Workshop with River City Mushrooms
On August 23rd, visit the West Broadway Farmers Market to join small scale mushroom cultivation expert Tom Nagy of River City Mushrooms as he introduces you to the world of homegrown gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. During this program, you will acquire a basic understanding of what mushrooms and fungi are, what species and varieties can be easily grown both indoors and outdoors as well as how to best care for them to ensure consistent and bountiful crops of beautiful mushrooms. A hands-on demonstration on how to grow oyster mushrooms out of a plastic pail will also be featured. Tom will also have kits for sale before and after the Market, so don't miss out!
