WBCO invites you to our 2025 Annual General Meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 12/25 at 6pm, in the mini-gym at Crossways in Common (222 Furby St). If you live, work, or volunteer in West Broadway you’re invited!
This year's agenda includes the approval of WBCO’s revised by-laws. Please take the time to review the current and proposed documents prior to attending the event.

West Broadway Community (WBCO) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization working to coordinate and support social economic and environmental development efforts in Winnipeg’s West Broadway neighbourhood.
On behalf of the West Broadway Community Organization (WBCO) Board of Directors, I am pleased to invite you to attend the 28th Annual General Meeting at 6:00 pm on June 12th, 2025 at Crossways, located at 222 Furby Street. WBCO staff and volunteers will be on site to guide you to the gym where the meeting will take place when you arrive. Child care will be provided. ASL interpretation provided upon request at [email protected] .
The agenda for this year’s AGM will include:
1. A report from the Board of Directors
2. A report from WBCO Staff
3. A review of the 2024 audited financial statements and Treasurer’s report
4. Appointment of Auditor for the next fiscal year
5. Approval of WBCO’s revised by-laws (copy of draft by-laws attached)
6. Election of new and existing members to the WBCO Board of Directors
7. An award ceremony for outstanding community service.
WBCO is currently seeking applicants for the WBCO Board of Directors who have expertise in any of the following areas: finance, community development, law, fundraising, non-profit work, or public relations. Lived experience is considered an asset. WBCO is committed to equity and diversity and especially welcomes applications to the Board of Directors from residents of West Broadway of all sexual orientations and gender identities, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, tenants, youth over 18, seniors and newcomers to Canada.
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS OF BOARD MEMBERS
Attend monthly board meetings and participate in committee work.
Support and guide the organization’s work.
Be an advocate for the organization and its work in the community.
Oversee financial management.
Commit to a term of 3 years, with the possibility of renewal.

ORIENTATION AND TRAINING
New board members will receive an orientation session to familiarize themselves with the
organization’s operations, strategic plan, and their roles.
On going training sessions will be provided as necessary.
CODE OF CONDUCT AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICIES
Board members are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards and declare any potential conflicts of interest.
